Today I’m going to be talking about Kupe and the Giant Wheke. If you have ever heard of this story or have not, please leave a comment on this blog and tell me what you think about it. Here is my work.
We read about a legendary character called Kupe who found his fishing lines were empty because A Giant Octopus was eating his fish from the net and making his net be covered in thick slime which is from an Octopus.
Main characters in the story are Kupe his wife Hine-Te-Aparangi and Muturangi the owner of Te Wheke, the giant octopus
Kupe said he would kill Muturangi’s pet, Te Wheke. After that, the following things happened: Kupe, Hine-Te-Aparangi, and their children loaded up the waka with food and plenty of drinking water. They sailed far out to sea and dropped their fishing lines to tempt Te Wheke to come closer. For weeks they chased Te Wheke. Hine-Te-Aparangi saw something unusual. “Look there,” she said, pointing. “ A long white cloud. It must be land!” Everyone was tired after the long journey, But wily The Wheke slipped out of his cave during the night and escaped. Even though the octopus had been on the run for weeks, he was still strong and quick. Kupe leant over the side as far as he could and smashed Te Wheke with his mere, right between the eyes. With a tremendous shudder, Te Wheke fell limp. Finally, the giant octopus was dead.
In the end, two major things happened. Hine-Te-Aparangi saw something unusual. It was Aotearoa AND Te Wheke was killed by Kupe.

Today My Blog is going to be about Cyber Bullying something we've been working on in class this week. We've done meanings to words that related to Cyber Bullying. In Information I've studied about Cyber Bullying included, Traditional bullying, how Cyber Bullying affects people's live's and some people commit suicide because of cyber bullying. Some people even get depressed because of the mean comments people make.You can be fined for inciting people to suicide and even jailed.

Today I'm going to be sharing with you my opinion on The Age in NZ should be changed for driving. First our teacher told us to write down in our books the question we picked for Fact of Opinion and make it into a paragraph. We had to make 3 paragraph and the paragraph had to have at least 3 sentences. Well I guess I should get onto what I wrote for my question (The Age in NZ should be changed for driving) Here's my amazing work.
The Age in NZ should be changed for driving
I think the age of children in NZ for driving should be changed because studies have shown that 16 and 17 years olds have twice as many crashes as 18 and 19 year olds. So that’s why I think the age should be changed to 18 years when you're more mature and are almost in University.
33% of deaths among 13 to 16 year olds in 2010 occurred in motor vehicle crashes.
56% of teens said they talk on the phone while driving. Do you think people at the age of 16 are mature enough to drive a car when there in high school? Or do you think they’re more mature to drive a car at the age of 19 when they're almost in University and are more in Adulthood? This is why the New Zealand age for driving should be changed from 16 to 19.
Here is a quick fact, “16 and 17 year olds have twice as many crashes as 18 and 19 year olds.”
15 and 16 year olds are less mature than 18 and 19 year olds. 15 and 16 year olds are still just preteens and are still children. They are still under their parents rules and they sometimes think they're adults and do what they want. They are mostly on their phones and think their phones are important and mostly get tempted to go on their phone while driving and end up getting into a car crash.
18 and 19 year olds are more mature than 15 and 16 year olds because they are almost in University and are more into their learning and getting ready for the adulthood world. They are less on their phones and are ready to look after their siblings and themselves. They also have less car crashes than 15 and 16 year olds and they pay more attention to when they're driving.
Why the driving age should be 18. There are some strong, data-based arguments to be made in favour of raising minimum driving age. The rate of fatal crashes per mile driven is around half as high for teens aged 18 and 19 as for 16 and 17 year olds. It is thought that raising the driving age to 18 could help lower the overall rate of fatal crashes. When you are older you have more experience to things in life.
So this is why 18 and 19 year olds should drive before 15 and 16 year olds. I hope you understand why 19 and 18 year olds should drive before 15 and 16 year olds. How old do you think people should be to be able to drive?

Today I'm going to be sharing with you a blog post about Gummy Bear Osmosis. This is another SCIENCE EXPERIMENT in our Science class.We had to be in a group of 6. The people I was with were Divine(AKA Me),Michaela,Tiana,Letitia-Ann,Olivia and Shakala. We are also learning about the meaning of Diffusion in liquids.We are also learning about Osmosis.Here are the steps

I want to find out what happens to Gummy Bears when we put them into different solution.
Predictions:I predict that they will dissolve

1.The normal water was transferred into the gummy bear the most.
2.The dry gummy bear lost 0-11 grams over a week.
3.The sugar water diffused faster than the salt water.
Diffusion is the movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Diffusion happens in liquids and gases because their particles move randomly from place to place. Diffusion is an important process for living things; it is how substances move in and out of cells.

Today I'm going to be posting a blog about about all the heroes I've learnt of so far. In my class we had to make a hard copy on a document but we first did on a piece of printed piece of paper and write the answers on the sheet with a pencil. After that we had to make a hard copy of it as a paragraph and post it on my blog. Here is my work.
In Nga tangata, Hurumanu 1 we studied the lives of some local, national and international Heroes.A hero is a male or female or group of people who. The meaning of a hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.I made slides about 6 heroes.They were Chelsea Bremner,David Ambler,Valerie Kasanita Adams,Steven Funaki Adams,Serena Jameka Williams,Usain St Leo Bolt.I also made some slides about a local hero who achieved-In Sprinting his name is David Ambler. Ambler’s personal best Time of 10.35 for the 100 metres was the NZ Jr record until it was broken in Christchurch.We read about a musical group called Crowded House,They were said to be ‘Heroes for one Day!’ when they performed in Christchurch recently.We discussed the meaning of ‘Hero Worship’. The Hero I Worship is Jesus Christ. Earthquake heroes I researched were-It was researched at stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/6459257/our-heroes-earthquake- awards Here are 10 Superheroes from the earthquake 2011. Air Force Museum,Alison Gallant,Alison Partridge,Amo Perelini,Lucas Perelini,Andrea Cummings,Andrea Robinson,Andrew Anderson,Anja Jansen, Ashley M Vickers. I also wrote about myself as a superhero. My Alias was Mrs Puffy Afro.Here is my story: Hi,My name is Mrs Puffy Afro. I’m a superhero and I live in Zimbabwe, Africa. My day is always fun and exciting because I get paid for my job and get as many chicken nuggets as I want if I complete my work. My favourite colour is purple and my favourite subject is maths. I’m 10 years old but I was born 6 May 2010 and I’m turning 11 this year in 2021. I’m a year 7 in school and can’t wait for my birthday because I only get a day of the job on my birthday, and I’m also a Spy and A Ninja and my spy name is Agent 31, and guess what I love watching Spy Ninjas on Youtube. Regina and Vy are my favourites because Regina’s Clumsy and loves chicken nuggets just like me and me and Vy are short and both like spicy food but at the end yellows my 2nd favourite colour but I hate the colour pink eww it’s just gross and so bright.Like what about purple? purple's a good colour to because I know almost 20 people who like the colour purple. But as a Spy Ninjas Chad is Red, Vy is Pink, Regina is Yellow, Melvin is green and Daniel is Blue. But I hope you liked my story and now know a lot about me bye.
