• What is the name of the chemical in chilis that make them hot? - Capsaicin
• The name of the five hottest chillis in the world? -   Carolina Reaper, Moruga Trinidad Scorpion, 7 Pot Douglah, Primo, Butch T Trinidad Scorpion.
• Name 5 countries where chillis are grown? Mexico, India, Africa, China, Thailand 
• What is the Scoville Scale? 
  

Aim: To see which is the best way to cool down the hot chillie taste in your mouth when eating chili.

Hypothesis: I think that by using Milk I will be able to remove the hot chili taste from my mouth.

Equitment: 

1. Milk
2. Water
3. Coca Cola
4. Tasting cup
5. Chilli.

Method:

1. You will work in groups of three for this experiment. Each person in the group will use one of the drinks with the chilli. You will then swap results in your group so that everyone has the same results.
2. Each member of the group needs to have their own tasting cup. This will be used for putting the different liquids in as we cool off the chilli in your mouths.
3. Place a piece of the chilli in your mouth.
4. After 10 seconds you will drink the liquid that you have in your cup. As you do this you will complete a results chart.

You will be recording the following using Yes or No

• The effectiveness of the liquid immediately.
• The effectiveness of the liquid after 10 seconds

Science Taste bud tests

Today I'm going to be making a blog post about Taste bud testing in science. 

Method:

1. Get safety glasses and make a blindfold.
2. Set up your chart and make sure that the person you are working with knows where to record your responses.
3. Using an ice-cream stick you dip it into the Sample.Once the sample is on the stick you will taste it and tell your partner your response.
4. There will be 2 Answers.
5. At taste test one you need to hold your nose.

Answer 1 . Is it sweet,sour,salty,bitter. Record it.

Answer 2. What do you think it is. Record it.

      

      6. Repeat this for the next samples but you will only need to use your ice-cream stick taster for sample 1- 4.

Today I'm going to make a blog post about me for 2021, So let's get started.

Hello, My name is Divine Dhlakama, I'm a year 7 in Hornby High School. I'm 11 years old and was born on the 6th of May 2010. This year is my first year at Hornby High School and I'm in Term 2 in 2021 this year. In Hornby High I have 5 periods of different classes.My Form teacher is Anna Taylor. This year I also made new friends called Michaela,Olivia,Delilah, Letitia-Ann, Eunize and Artee.

My Favourite Foods are Chicken Nuggets,Cookies,Magnum Ice Cream, Caramel Milk,Caramel Chocolate and Mozzarella Cheese Mince Bolognese With Spaghetti.

My Favourite Restaurant is Nandos.

My Favourite Colours are 1.Purple 2.Yellow 3. Blue 4.Green 5. Rose Gold 6.Turquoise

I have 2 little sisters called Anne Nyasha Dhlakama who is 5 and goes to Hornby Primary School and A Baby sister who is 1 year old called Simone Takudzwa Dhlakama.

Wonder (Netflix Movie

 Hello Amazing Readers,

This week we watched a movie about Bullying and how it hurt a boy called Auggie. He had a big sister called Via.

He was picked on because of how he looked and because he had Mandibulofacial dysostosis, or Treacher Collins Syndrome.

When he was wearing a mask on Halloween he heard his friend say “I would kill myself if I looked like Auggie.”

This made Auggie feel Sad and betrayed by Jack Will

Here’s a quote from Auggie: “ I know I’m not an ordinary ten-year-old kid.@

The theme of the story is about bullying, kindness, courage and friendship.

Canterbury Floods

 Ta'lofa Amazing Readers,

Today I'm going to be making a blog post about the Canterbury floods that have been going for the past week so far. The flood started in Ashburton near the Ashburton bridge. People have been evacuating their houses and some schools have been shut down because of the flooding going on in Canterbury. Luckily for me I didn't have to evacuate my house of my school being closed done.
